SUBJECT: Use of The Campus Mail System (US Postal Services and Campus
Distribution)
I am writing to request your help in assuring that appropriate use is made
of the
Campus Mail System.
Recently, we were informed by the UA Postal Services unit that items are
being received through the US Postal Services System for distribution to UA
employees that appear to be personal mail. Such mailings include men's
magazines, catalogs and other printed materials that seemingly have no
connection with official University activities or employee duties.
ABOR policy provides that the University Campus Mail System is established
and reserved for official, State or University business.
Accordingly, I am requesting the assistance of the entire Campus Community
to help ensure that the Campus Mail System (US Postal and Campus
Distribution) is not used to receive or distribute personal mailings such as
the printed materials noted above that clearly are not directly connected
with a University project or an employee's regularly assigned duties. Your
support in this regard will contribute to the continued fulfillment and
achievement of the purpose of our Campus Mail System.
